Welded board heat exchangers
Principle of welded exchanger
Welded board heat exchanger consists of a set of boards, lined one after another and welded using the WIG method not using any additional material.
The boards are embossed so that an extensive turbulence is created in the flowing media which enhances the heat transfer and prevents creation of sediments.
It can be stated that the board heat exchangers have several times higher effectiveness than the tube exchangers.
Boards:
ST boards as the basic build elements render the excellent thermodynamic properties to the TENEZ exchangers. The functional surface is polished which together with highly turbulent circulation creates conditions for minimised creation of sediments and pollution.
The routes of media in the set of boards depend on the thermodynamic requirements for the exchanger. To meet the requirements of customers and the operational conditions of technologies, the ST boards with several types of embossing are used. The combination of various perforated boards and variety of sizes with parallel or serial sequence of inter-board channels enables to reach the optimum parameters in operation of the equipment. The exchanger’s body itself is jacketed depending on the pressure.

Cleaning and maintenance:
Compactness of exchangers of this type is their big advantage – exchanger is welded using only one type of material suitable for that application (there is no sealing, copper, nickel)
The cleaning can be performed chemically by flushing with chemical agent; with respect to the structure of an exchanger, the cheapest media can be used, i.e. caustic soda or nitric acid.
Individual approach to customers :To be able to calculate the type of exchanger for that given application, TENEZ a.s. owns an extensive software. If the request for proposal of exchanger is placed, we are pleased to offer you by return the calculation which is executed with high accuracy using the calculation programs based on sound thermodynamic and hydrodynamic measurements.
The following parameters create basis for calculations:
- operational heat mode
- flowing-through quantity or the quantity of the heat passed on
- operational pressure mode, possible limitations of admissible pressure losses
- flowing-through media or their physical properties
